Jennifer Turner is the President and CEO of Falkirk and brings nearly 25 years of experience as a regulatory strategic advisor and environmental assessment/approvals expert. In addition to her technical expertise, Jennifer has extensive leadership experience, guiding multidisciplinary teams and advising executives and boards on complex regulatory challenges. She has played a central role in shaping strategy, building organizational capacity, and advancing major projects through rigorous approval processes.
Her project experience spans a wide array of infrastructure developments across sectors. Notable examples include mine development (Red Mountain Underground, Eskay Creek Revitalization, North Island, Elk Gold, Cariboo Gold, and Premier Gold Projects, BC; Casino and Coffee Gold Mines, Rogue Project, YK); hydroelectric power supply (Aishihik Generating Station, YK; Site C Clean Energy Project, BC); transmission line development (Columbia Valley Transmission Line Project, Atlin Hydro Expansion Project, BC; Stewart-Keno Transmission line, YK); transportation and rapid transit infrastructure (Gordie Howe International Crossing, VivaNext Yonge Street Rapidway Project, ON); and waste management (Highland Valley Copper Sustainable Waste Management and Metro Vancouver Waste-to-Energy Projects, BC).

Michael McPhie is a founding partner of Falkirk with 30 years of senior leadership experience in the mining and energy sectors in BC, Canada, and internationally. He specializes in all aspects of major project development, including regulatory, engineering, government relations, and project finance. Through Falkirk, he also serves as Managing Director and Chief Projects Officer at Regeneration Enterprises, which focuses on extracting metals from mining waste and landscape restoration.
Previously, Michael served as Chair of Ridley Terminals Inc., a federal Crown corporation, and has held board positions on several public companies. He was President and CEO of the Mining Association of British Columbia, a Senior Policy Director at Natural Resources Canada, and chairs boards at the Association for Mineral Exploration (AME) and BCIT. He is a registered Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP) with the Institute of Professional Environmental Practice, USA.
A co-author of the best-selling book Weaving Two Worlds, Michael is a recognized speaker and commentator on mining, sustainability, reconciliation, and public policy issues. His extensive experience and thought leadership make him a respected voice in advancing responsible resource development and fostering Indigenous-economic collaboration.

Max Brownhill is an accomplished environmental executive with extensive experience leading environmental assessment, permitting, and regulatory strategy for major mining, oil and gas, and infrastructure projects across Canada. He has supported both owner’s teams and consulting firms, building teams and leading the preparation and submission of large-scale assessment applications, as well as delivering results in due diligence, reclamation, and meaningful engagement with Indigenous Nations.
As Chief Operating Officer of Falkirk Environmental Consultants, Max oversees strategy and operations while directly advising on environmental assessment and permitting pathways for high-profile mining projects. He currently serves as a strategic permitting advisor to TDG Gold, Scottie Resources, Northisle Copper and Gold, and Alkane Resources. Max has recently provided regulatory strategy to Eskay Mining Corp., Ascot Resources, and Osisko Gold Resources, contributing to the successful receipt of key permits enabling project construction.
Max’s career spans the full project lifecycle—from early scoping and baseline studies to approvals, operations, and closure planning—bringing technical rigour, regulatory insight, and trusted leadership to complex projects throughout Canada.

Christy leads the Indigenous Engagement & Community Wellbeing Practice Area for Falkirk, is a member of the K’ómoks First Nation and a highly skilled and accomplished professional with 25 years of proven expertise. Her work is deeply rooted in reconciliation and decolonizing the approach to ways of doing business. She specializes in developing long lasting relations, consultation and engagement, socio-economic reporting and management plans that accompany permits, and the Environmental Assessment process. Christy has experience in negotiations, strategic planning, risk assessments, facilitation, and mediation. She is recognized for her professional and personal understanding of Indigenous worldviews.

Katie Shaw is Vice President, Project Realization at Falkirk Environmental Consultants, where she leads a service line focused on building integrated strategies for major projects that align Indigenous rights, regulatory systems, environmental integrity, and long-term economic value. With over 20 years of experience in public affairs, Indigenous engagement, and policy development, Katie has worked across government, industry, and Nations to co-create inclusive, equity-based approaches—particularly in infrastructure, energy, and resource sectors. Her work is rooted in systems thinking and designed to deliver the best project outcomes through alignment, innovation, and shared stewardship. She currently serves as Board Co-Chair of the BC Construction Foundation and previously sat on the board of Equitas, supporting human rights education in Canada and globally.
Vice President, Operations and Water Stewardship

Apurva is Vice President of Operations and Water Stewardship at Falkirk. In this role, he leads strategic initiatives to improve internal operational systems and drive technology enablement across the organization. Apurva oversees key client accounts and has developed long-term partnerships through a client-focused mindset and a track record of building high-performing technical service teams. With two decades of experience spanning project direction, engineering & environmental consulting, international development, and applied research, Apurva brings a multidisciplinary approach to solving complex challenges. He directs Falkirk’s industry-leading Water Stewardship practice area, who adopt an integrated approach to water management, hydrological and water quality modeling, and regulatory strategy. He has delivered numerous watershed studies and environmental assessments across multiple Canadian jurisdictions, including Quebec, Ontario, Alberta, and British Columbia. Apurva is passionate about mentoring hydrologists, engineers, and water specialists, and continues to foster innovation and collaboration within Falkirk’s operations. He holds active professional engineering licenses in Ontario and British Columbia.

Dennis brings over 20 years of experience in the mining industry, specializing in water quality modeling and assessments, water management and mitigation planning, and aquatic risk assessment. Prior to joining Falkirk, Dennis worked both as a consultant and on the owner’s side, where he was known for providing simple, practical solutions to complex problems. At Falkirk, Dennis will be responsible for directing projects within the Water Stewardship Practice Area. He believes that technical excellence and a strong client focus are essential for successful project outcomes. Dennis strives to deeply understand client goals, ensuring that projects are tailored to meet these goals in a technically rigorous manner.
