Falkirk is comprised of an accomplished team of senior technical, regulatory and indigenous engagement professionals with decades of experience. We are headquartered in Vancouver, BC and our primary focus is on the mining and mineral exploration sector in British Columbia. We lead permitting and regulatory affairs matters for dozens of projects in BC and northern Canada. We work with government, financial institutions, and communities to provide solutions to complex issues.

Falkirk Environmental Consultants has been involved in full project permitting strategy design and implementation, budget control, contractor/specialist selection and outcomes management. Project permitting, licences and regulatory affairs for all stages of the development cycle from exploration and assessment to operations and ultimate closure. Design and management of baseline environmental studies. Full environmental assessment process management (Federal, Provincial and Territorial) and regulatory engagement. Government affairs and strategy at all levels from local, to provincial and territorial to Federal and Aboriginal/First Nations and community engagement, Public affairs and communications. Due diligence and risk assessments.

Jennifer is a Registered Professional Biologist, Environmental Planner and Project Management Professional with over 15 years’ experience encompassing environmental impact assessment, permitting coordination, and environmental management planning. This experience spans an array of infrastructure projects in a variety of sectors. Notable project examples include: mine development (Casino Mine, YK; Red Mountain Underground Gold Project, BC); rapid transit (Evergreen Line, BC; VivaNext Yonge Street Rapidway Project, ON); hydroelectric power supply (Aishihik Generating Station, Yukon; Site C Clean Energy Project, BC); transmission line development (Columbia Valley Transmission Line Project, Atlin Hydro Expansion Project, BC); and transportation infrastructure (Gordie Howe International Crossing, ON).

Michael is a founding partner of Falkirk Environmental Consultants Ltd. and is an accomplished professional with over 25 years of experience working at senior leadership levels in the natural resources sector within BC, across Canada and internationally. He is a specialist in regulatory issues for mining projects and operations and has led the environmental assessment, permitting and government affairs for many projects in western and northern Canada and internationally. Michael also serves as President & CEO of Prize Mining Corporation, Chair of the Board of Ridley Terminals Inc., a Federal Crown Corporation, and IDM Mining Ltd. Michael was the former Chair of Board of the Association for Mineral Exploration (AME) and the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT). Michael is also registered as a Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP) with the Institute of Professional Environmental Practice, USA.

Max Brownhill is a senior professional with strong experience providing environmental leadership for large-scale mining, oil and gas, utility and transportation projects. He has produced successful results in environmental assessments, project management, regulatory affairs, permitting, community and First Nations engagement. Max’s experience includes providing support during the exploration, engineering, construction, and closure phases of the project development cycle.
Max is currently active as the Mine Manager on the Britannia Mine Remediation Project; the EA Project Manager for IDM Mining’s Red Mountain Underground Gold Project; and consulting as the Permitting Lead for Ascot Resource’s Premier Gold Mine in Stewart, BC.
VICE PRESIDENT, INDIGENOUS AND STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT
Christy is a highly skilled and accomplished professional with 20+ years of proven expertise in initiating strategic discussions with communities of interest groups resulting in a reduction of risk to project timelines. She specializes in working within the consultation requirements for permitting and the Environmental Assessment process. Christy has experience in negotiations, strategic planning, risk assessments, facilitation and mediation. She is recognized for her professional and personal understanding of non-traditional/traditional Aboriginal culture. Christy serves on various boards related to this field.
