JOB POSTING FOR A BOOKKEEPER/ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

Falkirk is a growing Vancouver-based management and environmental consulting firm, composed of senior and experienced environmental impact assessment specialists, permitting and regulatory management professionals.

Responsibilities and Expectations of the Role
• Perform accounting and finance duties
• Ensure accurate and complete journal entries (A/P, A/R) into QuickBooks
• Prepare monthly invoices
• Review vendor invoices and disbursements
• Produce monthly credit card and bank account reconciliations
• Prepare and submit quarterly GST remittances
• Liaise and assist external CA firm with preparation of annual audit
• Handle event registrations and process payments
• Maintain office (Accounting) filing
• Perform administrative and general office duties
• Provide administrative support
• Maintain office condition and ensure cleanliness of common areas
• Undertake other related duties as required
• Adaptable and independent: someone who has the resilience to handle multiple deadlines, the resourcefulness to solve problems on their own, and isn’t afraid to suggest new ways of doing things

Required Skills & Competencies
• Minimum 2 years experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or a financial field
• Advanced knowledge of QuickBooks accounting software
• Excellent computer literacy in MS Office including advanced skills in Excel and Word
• Experience with administrative tasks
• Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated team player
• Sound working knowledge of standard office equipment
• Ability to work independently and multi-task in a multi-site environment
• Fluent in written and spoken English
• Be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident
• Excellent interpersonal skills; personable, enthusiastic and friendly

Required Education & Experience
• Diploma in Accounting preferred
• Exposure to or accounting experience is an asset (AP/AR/payroll/expenses/reporting)
• Experience in an office administration role
