Michael McPhie, B. Sc., M. Sc., QEP
Michael is a founding partner of Falkirk Environmental Consultants Ltd. and is an accomplished professional with over 25 years of experience working at senior leadership levels in the natural resources sector within BC, across Canada and internationally. He is a specialist in regulatory issues for mining projects and operations and has led the environmental assessment, permitting and government affairs for many projects in western and northern Canada and internationally. Michael also serves as President & CEO of Prize Mining Corporation, Chair of the Board of Ridley Terminals Inc., a Federal Crown Corporation, and IDM Mining Ltd. Michael was the former Chair of Board of the Association for Mineral Exploration (AME) and the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT). Michael is also registered as a Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP) with the Institute of Professional Environmental Practice, USA.
Jennifer Turner, B.Sc., M.Sc., PMP, R.P.Bio.
Jennifer is a Registered Professional Biologist, Environmental Planner and Project Management Professional with over 15 years’ experience encompassing environmental impact assessment, permitting coordination, and environmental management planning. This experience spans an array of infrastructure projects in a variety of sectors. Notable project examples include: mine development (Casino Mine, YK; Red Mountain Underground Gold Project, BC); rapid transit (Evergreen Line, BC; VivaNext Yonge Street Rapidway Project, ON); hydroelectric power supply (Aishihik Generating Station, Yukon; Site C Clean Energy Project, BC); transmission line development (Columbia Valley Transmission Line Project, Atlin Hydro Expansion Project, BC); and transportation infrastructure (Gordie Howe International Crossing, ON).
Max Brownhill, B. Sc., R.P. Bio.
Max Brownhill is a senior professional with strong experience providing environmental leadership for large-scale mining, oil and gas, utility and transportation projects. He has produced successful results in environmental assessments, project management, regulatory affairs, permitting, community and First Nations engagement. Max’s experience includes providing support during the exploration, engineering, construction, and closure phases of the project development cycle.
Max is currently active as the Mine Manager on the Britannia Mine Remediation Project; the EA Project Manager for IDM Mining's Red Mountain Underground Gold Project; and consulting as the Permitting Lead for Ascot Resource's Premier Gold Mine in Stewart, BC.

Marke Wong is an environment, health & safety (EHS), and external affairs professional with 30 years of experience. He possesses a track record of repeated success across Canada and around the world. Marke first became a Registered Professional Biologist (R.P.Bio) in 1991, and now practices as a board certified Environmental Professional (EP). He has served in senior advisory roles with the IFC/World Bank, Association for Mineral Exploration (AME), Canadian Standards Association (CSA) and the Teslin Tlingit Council. Marke’s education includes a B.Sc. in Marine Biology from the University of Victoria, and graduate studies in the M.Sc. Environment & Management Program at Royal Roads University (Victoria, BC).
Christy Smith, B.NS, MBA
VICE PRESIDENT, INDIGENOUS AND STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT
Christy is a highly skilled and accomplished professional with 20+ years of proven expertise in initiating strategic discussions with communities of interest groups resulting in a reduction of risk to project timelines. She specializes in working within the consultation requirements for permitting and the Environmental Assessment process. Christy has experience in negotiations, strategic planning, risk assessments, facilitation and mediation. She is recognized for her professional and personal understanding of non-traditional/traditional Aboriginal culture. Christy serves on various boards related to this field.
David Parker, LLM, LLB
SENIOR LEGAL & REGULATORY SPECIALIST
David has 25+ years of corporate and environmental law experience in private practice and within the mining industry. David specializes in environmental assessment and permitting of mine projects, negotiating socio-economic participation agreements with First Nations, and wildlife protection agreements with governments in Canada. David was most recently Vice President, Sustainability with Teck Resources Ltd. Under his leadership, Teck was named to the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index and the Global 100 Sustainable Corporations at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
Jasmin Flores, BA
Jasmin is a senior administrator / project coordinator with 14+ years of experience working in the mining industry. Prior to Falkirk, Jasmin served as a lead administrator at Fluor Canada where she was responsible for the administration in the EPCM phase of two multi-billion dollar mining projects (Long Harbour Nickel Processing Plant in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada and the Oyu Tolgoi Mine in Mongolia). Jasmin currently is the Project Coordinator of Falkirk Environmental Consultants Ltd.
