Leadership Team
Jennifer is the president of Falkirk and brings nearly 25 years’ experience encompassing environmental impact assessment, permitting coordination, and environmental management planning.

Michael is a founding partner of Falkirk and is an accomplished professional with 25 years of experience working at senior leadership levels in the natural resources sector within BC, across Canada and internationally.

Christy leads the Indigenous Engagement and Human Environment Practice Area for Falkirk, is a member of the K’ómoks First Nation and a highly skilled and accomplished professional with 25 years of proven expertise.

Max Brownhill is the a founding partner of Falkirk, VP Operations, and a senior professional with 26 years of experience providing environmental leadership for mining, oil and gas, infrastructure, and transportation projects

Natalie Tashe is a Professional Agrologist trained in project management and brings over 20 years’ experience in terrestrial environmental assessments throughout Western and Northern Canada in leading both Provincial and Federal environmental impact assessments, permitting applications, and environmental design and compliance for existing mine operations.

As an experienced water resources engineer, Apurva brings 16 years of combined engineering, environmental consulting, international development, and applied research experience to Falkirk.

Kate is a registered Professional Engineer and regulatory specialist with 23 years’ experience in the mining industry.

Jake Stemeroff leads Falkirk’s human environment team and is a socio-economic consultant and project manager with a diverse background in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) consulting, economic and financial modelling, economic development, and community engagement.

Scott is a seasoned senior executive with almost 28 years of experience in private and public sectors, working as a regulator, consultant and proponent. Scott has had decision-making, oversight or project management roles on dozens of environmental assessments across all sectors in BC, over the past 13 years. His most recent role has been serving in the capacity of Associate Vice President, Regulatory Affairs with the BC Transportation Investment Corporation.

Kris Savoia is a Senior Office and Project Administrator with 35 years of experience with office systems administration and coordination, project and contracts administration, and document development and preparation.











Regulatory Approvals, Environmental Assessment and Permitting Team

Max Brownhill is the operations leads, a founding partner of Falkirk and a senior professional with 24 years of experience providing environmental leadership for mining, oil and gas, infrastructure, and transportation projects.

Natalie Tashe is a Professional Agrologist trained in project management and brings over 20 years’ experience in terrestrial environmental assessments throughout Western and Northern Canada in leading both Provincial and Federal environmental impact assessments, permitting applications, and environmental design and compliance for existing mine operations.

Shawneen Walker is a professional biologist, registered in both British Columbia and Alberta, and has over 20 years of experience in consulting and education. She specializes in facilitating environmental assessment certificates, permits, licenses and approvals by coordinating multidisciplinary teams and managing communication between the proponents, regulatory agencies and stakeholders.

Nicole is an environmental biologist with over 18 years combined experience in terrestrial ecosystem, vegetation, and wildlife ecology. She specializes in ecosystem mapping, vegetation, and wetland baseline assessments, environmental effects assessments, and mitigation and management plans.

Fauzi is an environmental coordinator and project manager within Falkirk’s Regulatory and Project Permitting group. Specializing in the areas of environmental assessment and major project permitting, Fauzi spent the last five years with Hemmera in Quebec working in the natural resource sector.

Claudia is a bilingual (English/Spanish) environmental professional with extensive experience leading the environmental assessment, permitting and scientific analysis of projects linked to mining, natural resources, solid waste, and research throughout the Americas.

Ms. Arnold is a regional expert on mine permitting and compliance in the southern region of the United States with over 30 years of mining experience. Her most recent project was the successful completion of a 12-year permitting process for a large open pit mining project near Tucson, Arizona.











Indigenous Interests and Stakeholder Engagement Team
Christy leads the Indigenous Engagement and Human Environment Practice Area for Falkirk, is a member of the K’ómoks First Nation and a highly skilled and accomplished professional with 25 years of proven expertise.

Erin is the Indigenous Engagement and Human Environment Practice lead at Falkirk and brings more than 20 years of professional experience working as an environmental practitioner in stakeholder and Indigenous engagement roles within various natural resource and energy sectors.

Connor Paone is an interdisciplinary specialist with a strong background in working directly with First Nations communities both as a staff member and as a consultant.

Jen is a naturally curious ally to Indigenous communities who has worked with various groups managing projects in the social services, education, and planning sectors of First Nations governance.

Melissa has a Master's in International Development Studies from the University of Ottawa and an Undergraduate Degree in Political Science from the University of Alberta. She enjoys finding creative solutions to new problems and finding the most efficient path in a logistical puzzle.

Ellen is Falkirk’s Environmental Health Specialist with the Community Health and Well-Being Team and is a Registered Professional Biologist in British Columbia

Moriah is a Project Coordinator working in Indigenous and Stakeholder Engagement providing support on the delivery of projects within that practice area.

Nikki has a degree in Geography and Environmental studies and is currently in the process of obtaining her MBA. Before joining the Falkirk team in 2023, Nikki worked in the mining sector at Teck Highland Valley Copper (THVC). While at THVC, Nikki worked as a Cultural Heritage Coordinator and Safety & Loss Control Coordinator.

Alyssia is an environmental professional with 10 years of experience working in the environmental sector as an environmental consultant and as a referrals analyst for the shishalh Nation. Alyssia is registered as an Applied Science Technologist (AScT) with the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of British Columbia.

Ryan Deneault
An innovative community leader with over 10 years in business development. Skilled in creating meaningful, lasting, and mutually beneficial partnerships. Focused on leading and improving Indigenous Relations in the extractives sector. Member of the Skeetchestn Indian Band.










Human Environment team

Mr. Sunderman is an economist and member of the Economic Development Association of Canada, the Association of Professional Economists of British Columbia, and the International Association for Impact Assessment Western and Northern Canada.

Operational Compliance and Environmental Management Team
Kate is a registered Professional Engineer and regulatory specialist with 23 years’ experience in the mining industry. Kate’s experience was gained in mining operations, engineering consulting, and regulatory positions with significant time in senior leadership roles.

Nicole McLaren is an accomplished Indigenous professional in the mining industry with over 16years of senior experience in geology, corporate sustainability, Indigenous Peoples relations,and economic development.

Kellie brings an academic background in environmental sciences to natural resource projects and industrial operations.

Grace joins the Falkirk team with a strong background in environmental engineering and business management along with a diverse experience in social work and community development.

Laura Smithies is an Environmental Professional with over 30 years of experience serving the mining, oil, and gas industries. She has worked on mining projects as a consultant since 2018 providing the experience gained as an environmental professional in the mining industry. Laura has held roles of Permitting Specialist and Discipline Lead for federal, provincial environmental assessments and federal permitting (Fisheries Act and Metal Mining Effluent Regulations, Canadian Environmental Protection Act (CEAA 2012).








Water Stewardship Team
As an experienced water resources engineer, Apurva brings 16 years of combined engineering, environmental consulting, international development, and applied research experience to Falkirk.

Ryan is a registered Professional Engineer with over a decade of experience in resource extraction industries, with a particular focus on water infrastructure in industrial and resource extraction scenarios.

Erik is an environmental scientist with over ten years of combined industry, government, and consulting experience in Ontario, Alberta, and BC.

Dr. Sidenko is a Geochemist and registered professional geoscientist with 26 years of consulting and research experience focusing on Metal Leaching and Acid Rock (ML/ARD) studies and water-quality predictions. Nikolay’s technical experience includes determination of background concentrations, characterization of contaminant sources, delineation of contamination, monitoring and modelling of contaminant movement in streams and groundwater.

Stephanie Broda is a water quality scientist with over ten years of environmental consulting experience for projects in British Columbia, Alberta, and the Northwest Territories. Her focus has been completing water quality assessments for mining projects, including the development and execution of regulatory aquatic programs.

Jonathan is a water quality specialist with more than ten years of professional experience in surface water quality monitoring. He has specialist skills in field water quality assessment and data evaluation as part of aquatic effects monitoring programs in Northern Canada.

Bofu is a Water Modelling and Data Science Specialist. He has 10 years’ experience specializing in water/wastewater quality treatment and modelling.

Tammy is a hydrogeologist with a Master of Science from McMaster University and expertise in Geographical Information Systems (GIS).

Shelby is a water resources specialist with a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Guelph.

Jacob is a professional geoscientist (Alberta) with over five years experience in environmental consulting, with project experience spanning Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, and South America. Most recently, his focus has been assisting clients expand their understanding of the geochemical risks at their sites and manage those risks through mass balance modelling. This includes supporting geochemical characterization programs, conducting water quality assessments, development of geochemical source terms and mine site conceptual models.

Julia Johnson is a water quality specialist and registered professional biologist with over ten years of experience in surface water quality monitoring and laboratory analysis. Julia's experience has primarily focused on mine-affected ground water chemistry, and she has developed an extensive analytical background in chemical analysis of unique water matrices.
