Regeneration Partnership
Falkirk is working with Regeneration as its lead Canadian national partner on projects from east to west to the northern territories. Falkirk’s knowledge and understanding of regulatory risks and opportunities, the importance of Indigenous partnerships and engagement best practices, water stewardship, government and public affairs, and reclamation and closure makes them an ideal partner for Regeneration.
Under the partnership, Falkirk serves as Regeneration’s preferred Strategic Partner in Canada and will support project development nationally. The partnership will jointly identify, assess, and develop legacy mine sites where re-mining, remediation, and restoration can deliver measurable benefits for ecosystems, Indigenous Nations, and local communities. Through the partnership, Regeneration and Falkirk will collaborate on project identification, technical assessment, permitting strategy, engagement, and joint development agreements.
Regeneration is pioneering a model that reimagines legacy mining liabilities as future ecological and economic assets. Through partnerships with industry, Indigenous communities, research institutions, and progressive governments, the company is advancing projects across North America, Australia, and globally.
Regeneration is headquartered in Washington, DC and has a Canadian subsidiary located in Vancouver. Major shareholders and partners of Regeneration include Rio Tinto, Apple, Caterpillar, and the Canadian jewelry company, Mejuri.
An example of work between Regeneration and Falkirk is the Hedley Mariposa Flats Project, located in the town of Hedley in southwestern British Columbia. This is a gold and cobalt tailings reprocessing and site restoration project from a historic mine that is intended to address long-standing concerns of local community members, particularly the Upper Similkameen Indian Band (USIB). The project is a partnership between Regeneration, the Province of BC, and the USIB.
A pre-feasibility study (PFS) was recently completed and the project is moving into a definitive feasibility stage, with the goal to begin development before the end of 2026 with first gold and cobalt production in 2027.
Falkirk has been working with Regeneration since the start of this project and is a key part of the design and development team.
