Jake Stemeroff leads Falkirk’s human environment team and is a socio-economic consultant and project manager with a diverse background in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) consulting, economic and financial modelling, economic development, and community engagement. Jake specializes in Indigenous socio-economic and socio-cultural impact assessments at both the federal and provincial level, and has experience working from “coast to coast to coast” across Canada. Jake has ten years of consulting experience working on environmental impact assessments, project permitting and management, regulatory engagement and approvals, indigenous stakeholder engagement, and regulatory compliance & oversight. Jake has worked with Indigenous Nations across Canada in addition clients from wide variety sectors which include: power (generation and transmission), natural resource extraction and processing, transportation, municipal infrastructure, and agri-food. Jake has experience assessing socioeconomic and ESG considerations qualitatively and quantitatively through socioeconomic impact assessments, baseline studies, and developing economic/financial models. Jake was recognized in 2018, 2019 and 2021 as a leading Canadian professional under the age of 35 enhancing overall sustainability by Leading Change Canada and the GLOBE Series for his work contributing to the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. In 2020, Jake graduated with distinction, earning an M.B.A. in finance and strategy from Wilfrid Laurier University. He also holds a B.B.A. in Sustainable Business Strategy from Wilfrid Laurier University.
