Kate is a registered Professional Engineer and regulatory specialist with 23 years’ experience in the mining industry. Kate’s experience was gained in mining operations, engineering consulting, and regulatory positions with significant time in senior leadership roles. Her experience spans all phases of mining; exploration, project development, regulatory approvals, construction, operations, and care and maintenance compliance. Kate is also a tailings engineer with significant tailings management and oversight experience, which is a critical area to achieve operational excellence in mining. She brings a key understanding of both operations and regulation to assist clients with achieving sustainable and compliant projects.

Kate is actively leading an environmental management and compliance improvement project for a client in transition between operations and a major project expansion. This includes establishing a site-specific compliance matrix, Notice of Departure assessments, compliance related amendment applications, regulatory submissions, management plan and policy development, as well as identification and enhancement of systems and tools. Development of a compliance dashboard tool is also ongoing that will communicate critical controls and KPI data from site operations to corporate.
